Description

☾BASIC INFO
Name: Acacius Rosid
Spiritua: Fortune
Arcana: Wind
Grade: Year 1 of Comet
Age: 13
Height/Weight: 150.1 cm and 63 kg
Monster: Dryad (Wood Spirit)
Acacius is a from a long line of Dryads. Each member of this species embodies a different type of tree, Acacius is a silver birch while his mother is a weeping willow. Their bodies are made entirely of wood leading many to be quite heavy. However, they function like many other living creatures: they bleed (sap) when cut, require rest, and can experience all five sensations. As dryads grow they will shed their bark and will develop rings with each year they live. These spirits are closely tied to the earth thus many tend to lead sedentary lives however, some are more adventurous and have active lives. Dryads can choose to use light to photosynthesize energy however the process is slow and requires patience thus many opt to eat vegetation to supplement their diet. Depending on the lifestyle of the dryad they can live of to hundreds of years.

☾ABOUT
Personality: Extroverted | Excitable | Brash | Competitive | Hardworking | Thoughtful
Since Acacius is the second youngest of seven siblings, he grew up striving to stand out. He jumps at any opportunity to prove himself from being to first to run across the marketplace, winning at marbles, or attempting to outsmart you in chess. However, this eagerness does not always lead to success since Acacius does not plan ahead and will often get caught up in the emotion of the competition. For example he will always be on the offensive in a game for he desperately wants to win when in reality defense is equally important.  He also tends to make a typical conversation into a competition trying his best to seem worthy of attention and praise. For example you can often hear him say "Yeah well, I bet you can't do this." Though Acacius often seeks competitive opportunities, he does not always thrive when under pressure. He worries about letting those around him down and fears failure or losing. He craves the approval  and company of others.

Though he might come off as pushy and a little aggressive, Acacius is deeply caring. He is an excellent listener and will remember fleeting details about someone. For example once he gets to know you, he can rattle off your favorite color, favorite movie, favorite food, opinions about staying up all night, types of flowers you think are pretty and so on. Acacius enjoys asking others questions sometimes to a point where it begins to feel like an interview. All because he enjoys understanding those around him. He is far better at showing you he cares rather than saying it outright. For example he will often surprise people he is close to with gifts such as tea that reminded him of you or paper crafts of your favorite animal.

History:
As mentioned prior, Acacius comes from a large family. Each of his siblings along with his mother are Fortune Dryads while his father is a Commoner Satyr. All live in a relatively small caravan they use to travel from town to town. His mother, Eulalia, possesses the Ghost Arcana. She is able to sense the core emotion of any individual provided she takes their hand. Like a tarot card reader she can gaze deep into the souls of her clients. However, instead of cards, she uses the language of flowers. From her hand will spring a flower which embodies this core emotion; a yellow hyacinth for jealousy, an orange lily for hatred, a coral rose for desire and so on. She has attempted to teach her children this trade however, many can only generate flowers based on the visible emotions. Acacius' father, Hallr, is a handyman. He built the very caravan the family lives in. He will often build small trinkets and toys for his children. During their stops in the various town, Hallr will fix the appliances or other possessions of the town folk. Acacius' handiness is due to the long hours he watched his father at work.

The Rosids allow their children to explore the world independently and are very caring yet lax parents. This lack of guidance allows each child the freedom to explore what things interested them. This allowed Acacius to explore his arcana, one only he posses in his family and dabble in several hobbies like collecting beetles and building little gadgets. At the same time the lack of hard fast rules lead to squabbles between the children as they chastised each other for breaking regulations they made up for themselves; "Last one who touches that post has to do the dishes!", "You can't sing on Wednesdays its bad luck", "If two of your leaves lands on your shoulder you can't talk for an hour." Despite these petty arguments each child was filled with a strong sense of comradery for their siblings for they were the only constants in a life on the road.

Acacius first heard of the academy from a Nobelia during his family's visit to a wealthy town. His interest was immediately piqued since Solanum Academe would provide him with a way to escape his cramped and often chaotic life on the road. From then on, Acacius was determined to become a part of this school, spending hours reading history books to understand the world in which he lived and understanding his arcana. By being enrolled in this school, Acacius hopes to prove his worth to his family as well as to himself.

☾ABILITIES

Gust-  This ability allows Acacius to summon a large gust of wind which is able to propel him (which is rather convenient given how heavy he is). During battle this ability will allow him to move rapidly toward his opponent in order to engage in hand to hand combat or will allow him to flee rapidly if the fray becomes too much. However, this gust is short lived and takes a while to summon again: Acacius is not able to fly or hover in air for extended periods of time. This gust is also tied closely to Acacius' body for he cannot intentionally manipulate objects around him nor generate a ball of wind outside his present location. This gust can also be mistakenly summoned during bursts of extreme emotions; pushing him skyward during intense excitement, sending papers around him flying during frustration.

☾OTHER
Extra: Acacius' "hair" is made up of leaves which will change based off of how hopeful Acacius feels. For example, when overwhelmed with optimism and dreams for the future, yellow spring flowers will bloom. However when faced with stress and hopelessness, Acacius' leaves will turn fall colors and might even turn a dying winter brown if he cannot pull himself out of it.
